Every hour, someone in the UK is told they have Parkinson’s disease; there are approximately 152,000 strokes in the UK every year (more than one every five minutes); and one in six of the UK population have some form of hearing loss.
These health conditions, along with others such as arthritis and dementia, affect a substantial proportion of the population. A good understanding of common health conditions is essential in any care environment.
This qualification is designed for learners looking to start work in, or already working in health and social care, who would like an understanding of common health conditions and their effects on individuals.
This qualification aims to develop the learner’s knowledge
and understanding of:
• various common health conditions
• monitoring the health of individuals affected by health conditions.
The objective of this qualification is to:
• prepare learners for further training and to support a role in the workplace where the individual may work or interact with those experiencing different health conditions.
A statement of what a learner will know, understand or be able to do as a result of a process of learning. As well as achieve a NCFE CACHE Level 2 Certificate in Common Health Conditions which is an nationally accredited and recognised qualification.
