Level 2 Certificate in Understanding Retail Operations

Course overview

The retail industry is subject to a number of pressures. These include changes in shopping habits and the recent economic downturn which reduced consumer spending. However, as consumer confidence begins to grow, it is important that retail support staff are fully trained and equipped to represent your business and to meet the needs of your customers. As removing staff from the ‘shop floor’ applies pressure to rotas, this training can be carried out in the learner’s own time via our tried and tested flexible learning approach.

Learning Aim

“This qualification aims to:

* Provide an introduction to the retail industry to those new to or
seeking employment in this area
* Help learners develop an understanding of the different aspects
of working in the retail sector
* Prepare learners for progression into a range of higher level
qualifications within the retail sector, including more practical
qualifications where their knowledge can be put into practice.

The objectives of this qualification are to help learners to develop an
understanding of the different aspects of the retail industry. “

Learning outcomes

A statement of what a learner will know,understand or be able to do as a result of a process of learning. As well as achieve a NCFE CACHE LEVEL 2 Certificate in Understanding Retail Operations which is an nationaly accredited and recognised qualification.

“This unit contains three sections:

Section 1: Understanding customer service in the retial sector
Section 2: Understanding the selling process
Section 3: Understanding how individuals and teams contribute to the effectiveness of a retail business “

“This is unit contains three sections:

Section 1: Understanding how a retail business maintains health and safety in its premises
Section 2: Understanding retail customer law
Section 3: Understanding how to deal with customer queries and compliants in a retail environment “

Course content unit 3

“This unit contains two sections :

Section 1: Understanding the handling of customer payments in retail business
Section 2: Understanding the control, receipt and storage of stock in a retail business”
